Wi-Ex introduces the zBoost YX039 Dual Band Outdoor Antenna

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Wi-Ex has upgraded their popular YX029 Premium Antenna, to the dual panel YX039 Premium Antenna System. The gain of the antennas has increased, boosting the signal strength and coverage area of your RepeaterStore cellular amplifier. The updated YX039 uses the YX021 800 MHz panel antenna in place of the 800 MHz yagi antenna that was in the YX029 System. This change gives better performance and is easier to install.

The zBoost YX039 Premium Antenna consists of two directional panel antennas, each with a 18″ jumper cable to connect them to an antenna combiner. The antenna combiner then attaches to a single coaxial cable for connection to the Wi-Ex Base Unit. The new YX039 System is to be used with the zBoost YX510-CEL-PCS dual band repeater kit.

The new and improved accessory antenna system, Wi-Ex zBoost YX039, offers an improved look and better overall signal gain!

Improve Cellular Data Signal on your iPad

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Apple has introduced the long awaited tablet, calling it the  iPad!  The iPad has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity built-in, comes with 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of memory, has a 9.7 inch multi-touch screen yet only weighs in at 1.5 pounds. The company claims the device has a battery that can last 10 hours and can sit for a month on standby before needing a charge.

Some of the features include:

  • Surfing the web with Apples Safari browser
  • Sending and receiving e-mails
  • Saving and sharing photos
  • an electronic book store and book reading interface
  • a video player
  • iPod software for playing music
  • a newspaper reader program

Apple will sell a version with 3G data plans and without a long term contract. For those who experience a weak signal on the AT&T service we have a range of repeaters that will greatly improve your 3G data service. We recommend a dual band repeater so you can also have improved reception on your cell phone including the iPhone.

You can find a list of dual band repeaters on the following Repeaterstore page:

Wilson SignalBoost DT delayed until December 21st

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Wilson had originally informed us that their new SignalBoost DT product would be available December 15th, but this has now been revised to December 21st. The release of the sleek new desktop repeater kit has been highly anticipated as it positions Wilson to compete directly with the Wi-Ex zBoost products, particularly the zBoost YX-510, which has dominated the budget repeater market.

We hope to have a unit in our hands for testing as soon as possible. You’ll find our preliminary thoughts and a full product review (once it’s available) on our Wilson Signalboost DT review page.

You will be able to star pre-ordering at the Wilson SignalBoost DT product page as soon as we have confirmation from Wilson as to what quantity will be included in our first shipment.

Update: It turns out that the delay was cancelled. We now have the Wilson SignalBoost DT available for immediate shipping.
