Product Overview

The Wilson 801245 SOHO amplifier is a dual band 50dB amplifier from Wilson Electronics. The amplifier is dual band, and so works with all US networks except Nextel, which uses iDEN technology. As well as boosting normal cell phone signal, the Wilson SOHO will also boost data speeds on your 3G enabled smartphone or data card.


Kit options:

The amplifier is sold here individually, and as a complete kit. The kits contain all the antennas and cables you need to boost signal in your home/office.

 

How it works:

The outside antenna is placed in the area of best signal, collects it and sends it through a cable to the amplifier. The SOHO amplifier boosts the signal, and then sends the boosted signal through a cable to the inside antenna. This provides an area of improved signal, that can be used by up to 15 phones or data cards simultaneously.

Description

The standard SOHO kit includes an omni-directional building antenna, which is easy to set-up and features 5dB of gain. The kit comes with a 2 lengths of cable - one 20ft and one 30ft. Overall the kit can cover up to 3,500 sq ft.

Description

The SOHO Premium kit features the high gain 9dB M54 antenna. The extra 3dB of gain corresponds to double the coverage area. The kit comes with a 30ft and 20ft lengths of cable.

The SOHO Ultimate kit features a 10/14dB pre-amplifier before the SOHO. This turns the 50dB SOHO into a 60/65dB amplifier - providing a much larger coverage area.. The SOHO Ultimate is one of the strongest kits on our website, and can cover up to 10,000 sq ft. The kit comes with 50ft, 30ft and 20ft lengths of cable, which can be placed in any order.

The SOHO Marine is dual band kit designed for use on a boat or yacht. The kit works with all US networks (except Nextel) and can cover up to 3,500 sq ft.

Description

The SOHO Marine kit is similar to the SOHO Standard, except that the antenna has been replaced with a specially designed Marine Antenna. The Marine Antenna has both threaded and flat surface mounting options, and is made with weatherproof white fiberglass. The cable in this kit has also been replaced with white coaxial cable.

I bought the Wilson SOHO Amplifier - A dual band 50dB wireless amplifier and have been impressed with the results. The SOHO Repeater has brought my wife's Verizon reception up to 4 bars minimum, which is means she never misses or drops calls. For me, the Wilson SOHO has put my reception up to full (although I usually got a decent 3-bars). So overall, I couldn't be happier with the SOHO Amplifier. My only criticism would be that they could have made the amplifier more stylish. Although to be fair there is enough cable with the Wilson SOHO kit that I can put the actual amplifier part in the attic.

I give the Wilson SOHO Repeater 4 1/2 stars.
