In what situations can a cellular repeater help?
Low signal. Almost every cell phone user has experienced network problems at some point in their life. Lack of signal, dropped calls and poor call quality are all caused by a weak cellular signal. If you experience any of these symptoms in your home/office or vehicle etc. a cellular repeater can amplify a weak signal and provide a full 4 or 5 bars of reception. The same applies if you experience weak or slow text messaging, 3G broadband, WAP or any other cellular function - a cellular repeater can help you. For broadband data services, a cellular repeater will not only increase the coverage area, but it can improve data transfer speeds; unleashing the full potential of your mobile phone or 3G data card.
Battery or Radiation. Furthermore, if you are looking to increase the battery life of your cell phone or reduce the radiation your phone emits in the vicinity of your head then a cellular repeater will help because when it increases the signal strength your mobile phone has to work less hard to comunicate with the nearest cell tower. This means it will reduce its power output thus saving batteries and emitting less radiation.
Can a repeater help you? One way to be sure if a repeater will work for you, is to see if you can locate an area somewhere inside your home or outside in the near vicinity, where your cell phone picks up some amount of signal, however small. This is because a cell repeater will amplify a very poor signal into a strong one, but it cannot produce a signal in an area where there is absolutely no cell phone reception. Remeber to try each area for upwards of 30 seconds as most cell phones have a delay before they can register the signal strength when they are placed in a new area.
