The Hawking Wifi Repeater and Antenna. This kit includes the Hawking WiFi Repeater, as well as a high gain WiFi antenna. When used together this allows you to extend a WiFi network over a great range. The high gain antenna is mounted outside on a roof or exterior wall. It is pointed toward the original WiFi network. The antenna is high gain, and can receive very weak WiFi signals. The signal is then sent down the coaxial cable to the WiFi Repeater. The Hawking WiFi repeater takes the signal, amplifies it and creates a new WiFi network.
This kit allows you to use the same internet connection in two separate locations. Examples of use would be sharing an Internet connection with a neighbor, or extending your Internet to an exterior building or garage.
How it works
The antenna mounts to the wall, window or can be placed on a table or other surface. A 13dBi directional antenna receives the signal from the original WiFi network, and sends the signal to the WiFi repeater. The WiFi repeater boosts the signal, and rebroadcasts a new WiFi network using the two 3 dBi omni-directional antennas.
The Smart Repeater Pro uses two Wi-Fi radios. One Wi-Fi radio receives the signal and the other radio rebroadcasts the boosted signal. This clever design allows the boosted signal to utilize a different WiFi channel, which grealy increases performance compared to single radio repeaters.
